“I can not say enough good things about Dr. Winnie and her staff. My skin looks fantastically rejuvenated and all of my very old aged dark spots are gone except one which is not dark anymore but she wants to get rid of it with extra time. I’m sure she will. Dr. Winnie explains the procedures thoroughly in advance and as she works I’ve never felt rushed. She follows up with me even on Sunday which shows how she is a caring individual and compassionate about her patients. I’m glad I found Dr. Winnie.”*

How does Lumecca work?

Lumecca’s revolutionary technology allows the device to intensely photo-thermolyse (laser) a wide area of skin. When the light hits your skin, it’s converted into high-quality heat energy that penetrates deep into the dermis with 40% greater energy than standard IPL, which more efficiently breaks up pigments, shrinks blood vessels, and smooths out skin tone while breathing new life into your skin’s deep structures.*

What areas of the body can be treated with Lumecca?

Lumecca can be used anywhere on your face and body. It is commonly used on the face, neck, hands, chest, arms and legs.*

What should I expect with a Lumecca treatment?

Each treatment typically lasts about 30-40 minutes.* The number of treatments will depend on your existing skin conditions and treatment goals. During your treatment, our American Board Certified physician will gently apply the hand piece featuring a one-of-a-kind sapphire cooling tip to the targeted area, which feels like a gently snapping rubber band. Since the treatment is delivered to the deep layer of the skin, without breaking the skin’s surface, there is little to no pain experienced. After the treatment, there may be some mild redness and swelling, similar to slight sunburn. These symptoms usually subside within a day or so. Patients with a high incidence of dark spots and pigmentation may experience a “coffee ground” effect on the skin, which is the pigment breaking up into smaller parts. This is a positive, visible sign that the treatment is working and that the treated pigment has been broken up and is rising towards the surface where it will soon exfoliate away. Vascular lesions should change color and disappear after a few days.*

How soon will I see results of Lumecca treatment?

Brighter, clearer, and smoother skin should appear within 7 days after treatment with the most noticeable results being seen about two weeks later. With the use of recommended medical grade skin care products and simple maintenance treatments, the results can last for years.*

Is there downtime with the Lumecca treatment?

There is typically little to no downtime with our Lumecca treatment. There may be some mild redness and swelling 1-2 days after treatment, but since the skin surface is not broken, makeup may be applied within 24 hours of the treatment.*

Are there any special instructions to follow before a treatment?Avoid sun exposure before and between treatments.

    • Avoid self-tanning products for 6–8 weeks before treatment.
    • Patients must be off Isotretinoin (Accutane, Claravis, Sotret or Amnesteem) for 6 months before starting any laser treatment.
    • Discontinue the use of any medication that causes photosensitivity for at least 72 hours prior to laser treatments. If you are taking a prescription medication that causes photosensitivity such as antibiotics, please contact your prescribing physician to discuss your options.

How much does a Lumecca treatment cost?

Despite Lumecca being the newest technology- the price of our Lumecca treatment is comparable to the cost of standard IPL’s found elsewhere. However the cost of a treatment depends on the condition, size of area(s) to be treated, and goals to be achieved. Whether you want to treat a small area, have a full facial restoration, and need one or more treatments will be discussed during your consultation. Our consults are always complimentary, please email or call us to schedule yours today.*
