What is Qwo™Cellulite Treatment and how does it work?
Until now, cellulite has been one of the most challenging cosmetic problems to treat due to the complex nature of the condition. The condition is very common and affects 9 out of 10 women. The complex core structure of cellulite makes it difficult to treat because it appears as three different problems in the same area: (1) fatty compartments causing fatty bulges; (2) shortened skin septa giving a dimply, orange peel skin appearance; and, (3) loss of skin elasticity causing sagging skin.*
- Releasing the fibrous bands,
- Redistributing fat cells,
- Stimulating the growth of new collagen
The result is reduced cellulite and a new smoother skin surface.
Are you a candidate for Qwo™ Cellulite Treatment?
- Allergic to collagenase
- Have an active infection at the treatment area
- Have a bleeding disorder
- Are Pregnant or nursing
- Skin dimpling is caused by laxity rather than cellulite
What should you expect during your Qwo™ Cellulite Treatment?
Your doctor will then mark the dimples to be injected. Pre-injection anesthesia is not required based on Qwo™standard treatment recommendation.
Each dimple will be precisely injected once with a small size needle at three different angles. Injection takes 10 mins or less. No post-injection message needed.
Based on the severity and size of the cellulite, 12 to 24 dimples will be injected per treatment session.
How many treatments will you need and how soon should you see results?
Results are noticeable along each treatment course. In clinical trials, the final results are assessed 28 days after the 3rd treatment.
Is there downtime with Qwo™ Cellulite Treatment?
While Qwo™clinical trials indicate there is no downtime or limitation for activities after the treatment, it is expected that significant post-injection site bruising will occur, especially after the first treatment session. The bruising typically appears a few hours after the injection can last for approximately 2 – 3 weeks. The bruises spread around the treatment area changing color from reddish pink to darker blue and purple over the next few days. The bruising is part of the treatment process as it is a natural enzymatic reaction of Qwo™ while interacting with the fibrous bands of the cellulite, rather than injection related.
Bruises will be less significant after the subsequent treatment sessions and the duration will be shorter as well.
While there is some swelling, burning, light pain, and tender sensations to the area after the injection, it should not limit any normal functioning or activities.
With that in mind, we recommend you to plan your treatment around times you will not be wearing a bikini, swimsuit, or shorts.
