Recently, patients keep on asking me the same question…
“are you going to bring Morpheus8 to Parfaire?”
This past year, Morpheus8 has taken the aesthetic world by storm.
And no wonder. This minimally invasive device helps patients with a concern I hear several times a day. It goes something like this:
“My skin isn’t as firm as it used to be. It feels a bit creepy and I can see the beginning of jowls and wrinkles. And I could swear my cheeks look flatter…
“My skin needs a bit of lift. But I’m not really interested in dermal fillers or Sculptra… And I’m definitely not ready for threads or surgery.
“Is there anything you can do for me?”
These patients, who are typically in their 40s or early 50s, are looking for a “starter facelift”…
…A relatively simple procedure that tightens and smoothens their skin before the sagging becomes too bad, so they can restore the youthful looks they had just a few years earlier.
Morpheus8 is the solution they’re looking for. So my patients are usually pretty disappointed when I tell them I have no plans to buy a Morpheus8 device any time soon.
But they usually cheer up considerably when I add… “because I basically already have one!”
Let me explain.
Morpheus8 works by delivering microneedling and radiofrequency energy to your skin at the exact same time.
Both these treatments prompt your body to start producing more collagen, which is the key protein that keeps your skin firm and tight. So when you have more of it, skin that is saggy lifts and smooths out.
Morpheus has an outsized impact because it stimulates collagen both in the shallow and deeper layers of your skin. It’s like a collagen double-whammy.
It is also the best way to deliver radiofrequency. The microneedling creates little channels in your skin, which helps the radiofrequency get into the deepest layers of your dermis. So the impact is more powerful than usual here too.
But here’s the secret…
Even though everyone’s talking about Morpheus8 right now, it’s not new. It’s actually a slightly more advanced version of a different popular device called Fractora – which we’ve had at Parfaire for ages and absolutely love 🙂
These two devices are made by the same company, most likely in the same factory. Fractora has just been rebranded with a different name.
There are very few differences between them; the new name is really just a marketing gimmick. Doubtless, the next version of Morpheus will be given a new name too (unlike the iPhone where each small iteration gets a new number).
That said, the devices are not totally identical. The Morpheus8 needles are around 1mm longer, which can yield mildly better results but can also be a little more painful.
And while the Morpheus8 machine fires itself, Fractora is operated manually. Personally, I prefer the manual version for my patients, because it gives me more control over the settings and energy levels, allowing me to tailor the treatment more precisely to your needs.
These are very tiny differences that you won’t even notice. And their impact is the same… A more youthful, more confident you!
As the original Morpheus8, Fractora makes your skin smoother, firmer and tighter. You’ll be able to say goodbye to lax or saggy skin. If you have lines or wrinkles, their appearance will noticeably improve.
And it’s fantastic at addressing difficult acne scars, because it creates fresh, healthy, stronger skin.
I’m going to tell you more about Fractora next week, including sharing before-and-afters and even a video of me getting the treatment. So watch out for that email.
