New Injection is the Secret to a Tighter Butt

New Injection is the Secret to a Tighter Butt

From Kim Kardashian to J-Lo, it’s no secret that focus on the bum has grown in the beauty industry. Men and women across America are spending more time at the gym working on those glutes. Unfortunately, there’s only so much that lunges and squats can fix. That’s where we come in.

Parfaire Medical Aesthetics is a full-service med-spa. While we strongly believe everybody is beautiful, we know that some of us feel more comfortable in the skin we’re in than others. To help all our clients look and feel their best, we provide several services to highlight your favorite features and bring out the best in them. One of our most successful of these services is the Sculptra butt injection.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an FDA approved collagen stimulating injectable. Unlike fillers that pump up the injection site with synthetic materials, Sculptra uses a component of lactic acid, which is naturally produced in your body, to encourage collagen production.

As our bodies age, collagen levels begin to decline. As a result, the elasticity in our skin weakens, and this is when wrinkles and sagging skin begins to form. This is also why it’s so tough to tighten the skin on your bum after it’s begun to lose firmness.

As the collagen begins to generate, it plumps the injection site, smoothing fine lines and deep wrinkles, reducing skin sag and rejuvenating your youthful glow. In your bum, this means rounder, firmer cheeks, less sag, and fewer signs of cellulite.

The results of Sculptra are long-lasting, leaving you with a firm smooth booty for more than 2-years before requiring a follow-up procedure.

Where else is Sculptra Used?

Diolaze is a laser treatment that uses a diode laser beam to direct high-energy light through the skin and toward melanin (a dark skin pigment) located at the roots of hair follicles. The light emitted from the laser heats up melanin to destroy the follicles and prevent future hair growth, or to significantly inhibit hair growth. After some time has passed, new hair follicles may form and grow to replace those that have died with laser hair removal; therefore, future Diolaze treatments may be needed to destroy new hair follicles.

Tightening Your Butt – The Procedure

After a one on one consultation, Parfaire Medical Aesthetics will design a treatment plan bespoke to your individual needs. The Sculptra butt injection treatment is quick and virtually painless, lasting only half an hour to 40-minutes in length.

Following your procedure, you may feel tender at injections sites. You may also notice redness and swelling. Patients with sensitive skin sometimes experience mild bruising.

As this procedure is surgery-free, recovery time is quick, allowing you to bounce back to your daily life without pause.

PDO Threads: The New Age Facelift

PDO Threads: The New Age Facelift

As we age, our skin naturally begins showing signs of distress. From a decrease in collagen production to the effects of chemical pollution and the elements – our skin takes a lot of wear and tear.

To battle these unavoidable circumstances, Parfaire Medical Aesthetics offers a selection of bespoke beauty treatments, including thread lifting.

What is Thread Lifting?

Thread lifting is a non-surgical alternative to a traditional facelift. Rather than removing skin and stitching the gap closed, we use polydioxanone fibers, or PDO threads, to snug up loose skin and improve texture. The entire process is so quick, taking only half an hour, that some people refer to it as a “lunchtime facial”.

PDO threads were approved by the FDA in 2011 and have been recognized for their ability to increase natural collagen production. The threads are anchored into skin and lift the skin upward.

After four to six months, the threads dissolve naturally into your body and are absorbed. You’ll notice the results of your facial don’t wipe away with the threads. Due to the increase in natural collagen, the lift continues for another 3 to 6-months after the threads dissolve.

Where are the Results of a Thread Lift Most Noticeable?

Along with skin tightening, you’ll also notice texture improvement. The procedure works so well some clients choose to have it in the body as well as the face. Areas like the tummy, breasts, buttocks, and thighs are popular sites for the lift.

During your PDO thread lift, you’ll notice certain areas on your face reaping the advantages more than others. Some of the most noticeable differences you might see include:

  • Firmer neck and jowls
  • Lifted brows and eyelids
  • Fuller nasolabial lines
  • A reduction in marionette and smoker lines

If you have “problem areas” you’d like to address, we can walk you through the changes to expect during your one on one consultation. We work closely with each client to design a treatment plan specific to you. This is when you can highlight the changes you’d like to see.

What is the Difference Between a Thread Lift and a Facelift?

A facelift is an invasive surgical procedure. It requires long healing times and provides drastic results. A PDO facelift is not nearly as invasive and offers a quick and comfortable recovery.

When you receive a face or neck lift through traditional surgery, the results are more radical. PDO thread lifts aren’t meant to completely smooth deep lines the same way a facelift does. The treatment can, however, give your complexion a smooth, youthful appearance without the pain and medical care required of a facelift procedure.

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion (SilkPeel Facial) vs. Hydrafacial

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion (SilkPeel Facial) vs. Hydrafacial

Excessive Sweat Reduction

For decades, facials have been an excellent way to care for the skin by treating blemishes, resolving textural concerns, and restoring a healthy complexion.* However, with the influx of so many treatment options available, it can be a daunting task figuring out which treatment is right for you and your skin’s needs. There are a lot of safe and cost effective options now available, including both the HydraFacial and the SilkPeel Dermalinfusion (SilkPeel Facial), two of the newest and best facial treatments around… but which one is right for you? Let’s take a closer look.

HydraFacial

The HydraFacial is a skin resurfacing treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates the skin. With its patented Vortex tip, the device simultaneously removes dead skin cells and other impurities from the skin, while infusing the cells with serums that cleanse and moisturize.*

The HydraFacial combines Salicylic acid and Glycolic acid to chemically exfoliate the skin. This can have a positive effect on patients who struggle with active acne, but can dry and irritate clients who are not steadily experiencing breakouts. Unfortunately, the serum is housed in large containers of multi-use solutions, which could affect the efficacy due to exposure to light and air. Treatment takes about 30 minutes or less, and there is virtually no pain or downtime.*

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion (SilkPeel Facial)

The SilkPeel treatment combines non-invasive microdermabrasion and Dermalinfusion. It is equipped with a diamond tip and uses microdermabrasion technology to slough off the top layer of dead skin cells. This helps to address the buildup of dead skin, discoloration, and can stimulate collagen and elastin production; therefore reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.* Dermalinfusion involves the delivery of topical solutions that penetrate the dermal skin layers and initiate cell regeneration.*

Unique to the SilkPeel, there are four different serums that can be used during the treatment, which are chosen by your Esthetician or Physician during your consultation.

  1. The Hydrating serum that delivers intensive hydration using Hyaluronic Acid.*
  2. The Clarity solution that uses a combination of Salicylic acid and hydrating properties to gently exfoliate clients who are experiencing breakouts, without over drying the skin.*
  3. The Patented Lumyxl Brightening serum combines various unique brightening agents that are used to lift and lighten existing pigments due to post inflammation or sun damage.*
  4. The Vitamin-C serum which infuses the skin with a potent dose of vitamin-C which delivers powerful antioxidants as well as anti-aging and brightening benefits to the skin.*

The SilkPeel Dermalinfusion uses individual prepackaged disposable treatment heads to ensure no cross-contamination between patients. Every patient also receives his or her very own individually packaged infusion solution to use in its entirety during the treatment to ensure proper sanitation protocols. Basically, the solutions are always fresh.

The SilkPeel can be used on almost every skin type, due to the interchangeability of grit in the diamond-tip headpiece.* There are roughly six different options starting at a grit of 140 (for extremely sensitive skin, including rosacea) all the way to a grit of 60 (for thickened aging skin.) No matter the size of grit, when properly executed, the treatment has little to no downtime.* It not only evenly exfoliates the skin, but it also rehydrates dry damaged skin without over-processing it.*

Which gives you a better treatment?

The choice of treatment depends on the condition of the skin, as well as the specific skin concerns being treated. It is always recommended that you have a consultation with a Physician or Aesthetician, before undergoing any treatment of this kind. However, the SilkPeel is the obvious choice amongst skincare providers due to the customizable variables, sanitation, and efficacy of results.* Patients receive a more thorough exfoliation and a luxurious sanitary experience.

If you want to treat those stubborn blackheads, acne scarring, fine lines, or just need a total facial rejuvenation but don’t want to do any invasive harsh treatments, the SilkPeel Dermalinfusion can be the perfect option for you!*

Parfaire’s own Dr. Winnie Moses is a world-class board-certified physician who will be happy to provide you with a thorough skin analysis during a complimentary consultation. From there, should you want to have a SilkPeel facial, one of Parfaire’s experienced Medical Aestheticians who will perform the luxury SilkPeel treatment.

How to Get Clear Skin And Repair Sun Damage

How to Get Clear Skin And Repair Sun Damage

SilkPeel Facial Treatment

I think we’re all a little guilty of not being as SPF complaint as we should be. From past summers of slathering on the deep-tanning oil at the beach to outdoor activities like jogging and hiking, the sun and UV damage starts to take its toll on your skin. While more and more skincare specialists are stressing the importance of SPF and protecting your skin, the fact is SPF cannot REVERSE or HEAL the effects of sun photodamage. This damage often shows up as dark spots, irregular pigmentation, and rough tone. What can be done about sun damage to the skin then?

We have two treatments here at Parfaire that can help improve and reverse sun damaged skin: One is out “Clear Skin Treatment” with Lumecca and the other is our “Signature SilkPeel Facial” with Dermal Infusion. In this blog, we will discuss the “Clear Skin” Treatment, (Click here for more information about the Silkpeel Facial.)

Clear Skin with Lumecca

Clear Skin with Lumecca is one of the most modern and effective medical aesthetic treatments available utilizing intense pulsed light (IPL) to remove and reduce the appearance of almost everything from sun damage to spots to pigmentation problems and rosacea.

How does IPL work?  When the IPL is applied to the skin, it delivers peak power heat and light energy that penetrates deep into the dermis layer of skin to break up pigment and renew your skin’s structure from within.

While other treatments utilize IPL, Lumecca is unique in that it is 3 times more powerful than standard IPL, and it reaches deep into that dermis layer with 40% more energy to reduce the amount of treatments needed.

What are the results like? In just one 30-40 minute session, you will see a noticeable improvement within the first 7-10 days with results continuing to improve over the next next 2-3 weeks. You may experience some redness and flaking in the few days after the treatment, but downtime is typically minimal.

5 Ways to Keep Your Skin Glowing During the Holidays

5 Ways to Keep Your Skin Glowing During the Holidays

Glowing Skin

Holidays are one of the most joyful… and stressful times of the year. Somewhere between the spiked eggnog and late night Christmas movies we forget to take care of what truly matters; our skin. Taking care of your skin during the holidays may seem like just another task on the list of dozens of things to get done, but neglecting your skin can cause dryness, irritation and even lead to breakouts! Talk about the worst Christmas or Hanukkah gift ever! Here are 5 easy ways to keep your skin happy and healthy this holiday season, enjoy!

1. Drink More Water

Put down the wine for a minute and pour yourself a nice glass of WATER. Yes, you heard me. Drinking alcohol not only dehydrates you, but also has hidden sugars that can trigger inflammation throughout the body and lead to annoying breakouts or rashes. Just remember; for every 8 oz of alcohol, drink 16 oz of water to compensate and keep your glow on!

2. Get Some Major Zzzz

I know you have a ton of stuff to do; gift wrapping, baking, and decorating doesn’t happen overnight! Just make sure to get the proper amount of sleep in between. The average person requires anywhere from 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night to maintain proper cognitive function and cell restoration. This is crucial for skin because during REM sleep your skin begins its regenerative phase which helps to replace old cells with new cells.

3. Use a Silk Pillowcase

If you don’t already have one, put it on your Christmas list! Transepidermal water loss is when your skin can no longer hold in the moisture it is needed to maintain a proper barrier between your skin and the environment. What that means is when you’re sleeping, things like a traditional cotton pillowcases absorb the moisture from your skin, leaving you waking up to dry and itchy skin. Not to mention the amount of oil it absorbs from your hair and can transfer to your skin. Using an all-natural silk pillowcase can solve this problem and not only improve the health of your skin but also the health of your hair!

4. Exfoliate + Mask = Match Made in Heaven

Exfoliation is one of the best ways to slough off dead cells that are sitting on the surface of your skin. Using a gentle scrub, or salicylic, glycolic, or lactic acid 1-3 times weekly can dramatically improve the texture and tone of your skin. With the removal of dead skin cells on the surface, products are able to penetrate deeper to feed your skin the vitamins and nutrients it needs. Follow up with a revitalizing or hydrating mask after exfoliation and watch all your holiday woes disappear. Be careful to only use a charcoal or clay mask in areas you produce more oil (T-Zone) to prevent over drying the skin.

5. Cocktail Your Products

During the holiday season, many people suffer from abnormally dry skin due to the weather change. If you are one of those lucky people, a great way to combat dry skin is to mix a hyaluronic acid serum or facial oil into your moisturizer. What this does is increase the weight of your moisturizer without adding too many layers of product. This will insure your skin gets the hydration and moisture it needs without clogging your pores. Also a great way to turn any moisturizer into an overnight cream instantly!

Have a happy holiday & glowing New Year!
